Description
This practical and process-led workshop is for photographers and artists who already grasp the basic concepts of photography and understand lenses and cameras, and who want to explore the literacy aspect of it – they will not only take images but will read them.
Over two weeks they will be working with complex images from photographers, visual storytellers and photojournalists. The aim will not only be to read images but also to implement it into day to day photographic practice. Combining group sessions, practical exercises and group critique this workshop will lead visual storytellers to identify important images for their long-term documentary projects. This Course is limited to 10 students.
Prerequisite
Advanced: You are comfortable with your camera, whether film or digital, and with your photographic practice. You have already produced or are working on a body of work. You are looking to identify the right image for your long-term project and give meaning into it.

The Course is open for any visual storyteller.

Class Preparation
During the first class students should bring a series of five images from their ongoing/ completed body of work or five images from their port-folio.
