Interstitial Modalities: Between Image, Sound and Performance (Online)
Our experience of the world is first encountered through the body: in gestures that are learned,
behaviours that are policed and the quotidian negotiations of space and self. The body carries
these experiences as memory: absorbing social expectations, cultural norms, and personal
histories over time. This course begins from the personal as a point of inquiry. In doing so, we
will examine what emerges at the intersection of image, sound and performance. We will also
look at ways to think beyond the photographic image, learn how to listen, build upon oral
histories, and play through performance.
Introduction to Visual Literacy (Online)
This practical and process-led workshop is for photographers and artists who already grasp the basic concepts of photography and understand lenses and cameras, and who want to explore the literacy aspect of it – they will not only take images but will read them.
Archives, Found Photographs, and the Long Documentary Project (Online)
This practical and process-led workshop is for photographers and artists who are already working on a long-term project and want to bring archival material into it with more care and clarity.
