In the Sundarbans of West Bengal, India, the story of a man’s endless wait unfolds many images. Every evening, he waits by the riverbank, hoping to spot the ‘dingy’ that his wife and son had taken to collect honey, a vessel that had never returned…

In 2017, I had a transformative encounter at an exhibition in Kolkata, India. Until then, visions and dreams had flooded my mind, but the bridge between thought and documentary storytelling remained elusive. That encounter changed everything—offering a direction that intertwined documentary photography with intimate experiences. Since then, I have explored the work of various artists and tried to interpret them in my own ways.

This journey took shape from 2018 organically – as a natural extension of day-to-day life around me rather than a structured venture. Capturing moments of silent reaction to the surroundings became my instinctive response. The camera, an ever-present companion, led me through forgotten forest trails, winding mountain crevices, and abandoned forts lost to time. The images woven into my story are not just mere photographs but pieces of my lived experiences. This is an ongoing work and will continue till I am alive and clicking.

Fragments from Another World weaves a narrative of serendipitous encounters and silent reflections. The images, photographed across diverse landscapes, documented both the physical environment and the ephemeral nature of the moments they represent. Each frame holds a standalone story while contributing to the larger tapestry—an evolving chronicle that will persist as long as I remain behind my lenses.
