‘Luna Volta’ or a Portrait to an Unknown self- In Italian ‘Luna’ means moon and ‘Volta’ means ‘turn’. In poetry, Luna Volta is the turn of thought and argument-looking inside for a creation of poetry with love.

That is how Engenii Petrushanskii placed his sixteen years’ body of work- his Luna Volta. It represents his most sincere journey unveiling the depths of his visual habits and the photographic argot. He believes that it is a conceptual documentary essay for the future, which he started writing to himself years back, and received only now, without even sending it.

Engenii is equally fond of color and black and white photography. While working on one of his personal exhibition projects a few years ago, building up this series came into his mind – combining the photographs of his solo travel and the ones from a dark and sensitive period of his life. In this series he played with time along with different formats and mediums.“If you look for visual poetry then you can look into my photographs.” Engenii’s work not only provides that lyrical trance but it is a call towards limitlessness. In a prosaic documentary world ‘Luna Volta’ is a perfect composition made out of love and death, grief and intimacy.
